Michigan oversize and overweight permits are issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation, Transport Permits Unit. Single-trip permits are valid for five consecutive days, excluding Saturdays and Sundays.

Permit approval depends on the proposed route, dimensions, weight and infrastructure conditions.
